Dr. David Arditi, assistant professor of Sociology at University of Texas Arlington, has been named director of UTA Center for Theory with the goal of managing and expanding the Center at the University.
The Center for Theory is a point of pride for the Department of Sociology and Anthropology in the College of Liberal Arts. It focuses on contemporary cultural, political, and social theory, acting as a bridge between the social sciences and humanities.
“With his research specialization in cultural studies, digital music, and critical theory, Dr. Arditi is very well-suited to lead the Center for Theory,” said Dr. Robert Kunovich, UTA Sociology and Anthropology department chair. “I can’t wait to see what he has planned for the 2016-2017 academic year.”
