Each semester, the Center for Theory at the University of Texas at Arlington offers a Graduate Research Assistantship (GRA) to assist with the Center’s programs. We offer this to one graduate student in the Sociology Program’s MA program. This is a wonderful opportunity to graduate students interested in studying sociological theory at the Master’s level.

The Graduate Research Assistant helps in three main areas. First, the GRA helps the Editor of Fast Capitalism with various tasks associated with the journal. If you are a student interested in journal publishing, this gives you valuable skills in observing and working with the editorial team. Second, the GRA helps manage the Center’s Colloquium Series. This can include facilitating the speakers, and helping with promotion. Third, the GRA will help the Director of the Center for Theory manage the Ben Agger Theory Library. Finally, with any remaining time, the Director may assign the GRA to other tasks within the Center for Theory.

This is a great opportunity for students interested in Sociological and/or Critical Theory. Please feel free to contact Dr. David Arditi (darditi@uta.edu) for more information.

For more information about UT-Arlington’s Master’s of Arts degree in Sociology, please contact Dr. Heather Jacobson (jacobson@uta.edu).
