Steven Arxer Colloquium October 30 at 12pm in University Hall 432This year the Department of Sociology and Anthropology welcomed a new colleague, Dr. Steven Arxer, as part of the Community-Engaged Research Cluster. Dr. Arxer is a professor of Sociology and comes to us from UNT-Dallas. Please join the Center for Theory for Dr. Arxer’s colloquium on Oct. 30 at 12pm in University Hall 432. Dr. Arxer’s presentation is entitled “Developing Veteran-Defined Services within Learning Health Systems.”

This study utilizes a Learning Health System (LHS) framework to develop veteran-defined reentry services for post-incarcerated veterans. Veterans’ involvement as co-researchers provides insights into their unique experiences, helping to conceptualize more responsive and culturally relevant interventions. These preliminary findings highlight the potential of an LHS model to continuously adapt and refine programs based on veterans’ lived experiences, bridging existing gaps in veteran support services.
